We needed to move my in-laws to AL due to health issues. He complains about every aspect of the residence. He can see no positive side no mater how much we encourage him. He seems to still be in the mourning process of having to leave their house. Do you have any suggestions on what we can do/say to help him see the positive in this?

Get him seen by a geriatric psychiatrist, as Pam suggests, for meds. I would back off trying to convince him. Agree with him. Say, yes, I'm sure you're right dad. They don't know how to run this place, yes, I know the vegetables are all undercooked, yes, the staff changes are terrible". (Examples from when my mom was in IL). People like to complain. Pop in without him knowing you're there and see him enjoying activities.
