I cant afford the cash price at pharmacy for my mother. My Mothers medicaid was cut off due to her new caseworker not renewing it. I have 2 days worth of meds left. The Donepezil and Namenda cash price is nearly $1000. We dont have it. Thanks in advance

Also if it s your regular pharmacy, tell them what's happened. they may give you two or three days worth of the meds ... That will give you some time to get things straightened out.

Namenda, a year ago had coupons for a free prescription that could be filled by the pharmacy. Also, call the manufacturer on Monday tell them the situation and often times they will send out what is needed. I would also give the name and number of the caseworker so that you can be backed up. Why was the Medicaid not renewed? Just an error? Seems they should have a process to expedite renewal when thes things happen. Talk to the caseworkers supervisor, nicely. Also some churches and other community organization have free or low cost ways to get you meds. Google what may be available in your area.

Call the doctor who prescribed them and ask if they have samples in the dose she takes, or a combination of smaller doses that would equal what she needs.
