She is getting very weak, however we feel more socialization and activities would help her get better sooner.

I'm not sure what you mean by "she is getting very weak" is she frail and in need of care with most of her needs? then she should be in a facility. It would be helpful if we have more details. In our area (major metro area) the adult day care is about $85/day, but they have to be self-ambulatory, feed themselves, continent, and not dementia patients.

Council on aging has an adult daycare in Shrev., La. @ $66.00 per day (about $7.80/per hr). Opens @ 8AM thru 4:30PM Monday-Friday. Snacks, lunch included. By application before admission. Haven't checked out yet. Respite care (give caregiver a break) @ one nursing home with memory care-$160 per day also with evaluation application for actual type of daily care, medication). Now, looking for non-medical home care..so far that looks like $16 - $22 per hour with at least 3 - 4 hr minimum. Hope that helps.

My husband goes to a senior center which charges $11/hr including meals and snacks. VA is paying since he is a vet. If your LO is a vet or was married to a vet there may be aid and attendance funds to help. Check with area Agency on Aging. Some ALFs in our area offer day care if the beds are not full. One wants $10/ hr. Check around.

I recently saw a chart where prices ranged from $15 per day up to $165 per day. It depends on your location, what is being offered at the day care, how many meals per day, transportation, etc.
