Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories."

Some families draw up legal contracts so the parent can pay the adult child for help. Because of Medicaid laws, it's a good idea to make it legal.

Carol

Hi Christen,

You also can check with home care provider organizations in your community. If you become an employee, and go through their training program, you can get paid by the company for taking care of a loved one.
