What's the difference between an Independent Living Center and an Assisted Living Facility?

An independent living community offers apartments, meals (usually) maintenance, etc. An Assisted Living community offers this PLUS the help of nurses aides and nurses. This enables the resident to get help with things like dressing, bathing, queing for medication taking, etc.
