Carol Bradley Bursack, Aug 31, 2010
Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories."
16. Mom has $636/mo income, Dad has $1900. Dad arranged so Mom paid all bills. Dad now in nursing home. Can he start paying 1/2 bills now? This is something that calls for an elder law attorney (you can find a lead to one at http://www.naela.org/) or through your state bar association. An estate attorney may be able to help. At any rate, I feel you need an attorney to figure out how to do this to stay within Medicaid rules. Good luck,Carol
