They live alone, we do what we can
Carol Bradley Bursack, Dec 17, 2011
Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories."
Medicare is likely paying for their health insurance. If you are looking at a nursing home, they will probably have to pay the costs themselves until their assets are nearly gone. Then you will help them with the paperwork to qualify them for Medicaid. If they have very little money, they may qualify now. You can find out through social services. Carol
