Carol Bradley Bursack, Mar 6, 2010

Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories."

Very likely you can. You should use a CPA or other financial expert, however, to make sure you do it right.

As long as you provide at least 50% of the support, you can claim your parent. You can go to your local H&R Block and talk with an experienced preparer.
