I'm concerned my mother will leave my home and wander off. I've tried door knobs that don't allow children to get out, but she got out to bring the dog. What's the best solution?

San, We had double locking deadbolts installed on Mom's doors after she started wandering. She can no longer walk alone, but at the time, they worked great! They do not have a nob to turn. You have to use a key to disengage the deadbolt from both sides. Of course you need to realize that this can be a safety issue, so the key should be where you can reach it at all times. It only takes a few seconds for them to disappear! Let your neighbors know of your concerns and tell them to call you if they ever see her out on her own. I found this to be a help also. Good luck.
