How many days of Respite Care does Hospice provide?

Asked by JOEBLOW  |  Feb 19, 2010

I was told by Hospice that they provide 5 days of respite care total, but another member stated that he gets 5 days a month. Does anyone know the rules?

Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book “Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories.” Her sites, www.mindingourelders.com and www.mindingoureldersblogs

That would depend on the hospice organization. If you have more than one in your area, you could check around. They are not all the same, unfortunately.
