Majority of people who are Caregivers of spouses/partners or parents do not get paid for this service unless the person they are caring can pay them from their own pocket.

You may want to check with Medicaid to see if your partner could quality. Medicaid then they could send out a Caregiver from an approved Agency to help with the care... that way you could go back to work. Now a few States do have programs with a spouse can get paid but that all depends if your State offers this type of program.

Look under the Money & Legal tab at top of page. Click on Paying for care. This is probably the #1 question on the site. There is an article about being paid for Caregiving that will get you started to find out if you qualify for any of the programs for being paid for Caregiving. Hope that you can find the help the 2 of you need.
