Do you have something to use such as a sling for my aunt to sit in and be carried up the steps by two men?

I would check with ambulance companies to see what they do also nursing homes PT depts. have cataloges from companies that have everything you can imagine for caregiving they probably could make you a copy of what you need and medicare may pay for it you could get a chair lift but they are very expensive

do the chair carry. find the lightest chair in the house, (dining room side chair) one guy on either side, auntie in the chair and up you go. Coming down is cool as long as someone is in front of her so she doesn't tumble forward.

That's how paramedics get someone down the stairs if they don't have the regulation one. Seen it work and it works like a charm.
