All he has is SS? I am still working and I make around $30,000 to $40,000 a year. I am getting SS too.

Medicaid is only available for people with low income. He has to meet certain requirements. The best way to find out is to visit the "official" Medicaid website. Heres the link: www.cms.gov/MedicaidEligibility/01_Overview.asp#TopOfPage
Medicare.gov also has a tool that lets you enter some information about your parent/spouse to find out they are eligilble. Here's the link:www.medicare.gov/MedicareEligibility/Home.asp?dest=NAV|Home|MyEnrollment#TabTop

AgingCareEditor,
That is what I keep telling my family. They want me to put him in a home and I kept saying medicaid wouldn't pay for it, I make too much money and said it is for poor people. I thought about doing it just to have some peace. They are afraid he is going to kill me. 86% of caregivers die first. So why don't they give me more help. Only time I get away is to go to the store or work in our office 2-3 afternoons a week. Thanks for getting back with me.
