One year ago I was put in a drug induced coma for 8 days. Since then, I have been having problems with my eyesight. Could it be due to the ventilator?

Upon waking out of coma my eyes were covered in blood and took 5 to 6 days to clear. Experinced coniderable vision loss in left eye.Tried to wear soft contacts but can't because of the horrible burning. redness and swelling. Can this be caused by the ventilator and is there anything I try to alleviate the problem?
