I am a caregiver of an 87 year old man. (my husband's step father)The only thing he seems grateful for is when I make him food. He will eat absolutely anything.
My husband has a brother who calls maybe once every 3-4 months. But that's all he does.
Make time for yourself, try not to feel guilty for wanting to have a life. Your Grandmother had hers and now it's your turn. Learn to say no....some demands made of us are impossible for us to live up to. We are only human, and we need rest, peace and time out too.
Sometimes the people we are caregivers for thing we "owe" them what they are asking for. That's just a way to make us feel guilty if we don't give in every time. But we physically CAN'T do all they want us to do. We have to thin of our own health too.
