My mother's Medicare-provided home care worker is supposed to help out, clean and go shopping for her, but reads magazines and leaves her with no food instead. What can we do?

Thanks, I think it may be time to do some research in to agencies that contract with Meidcare.

My mother has a Home Care worker thru Medicare that is supposed to come and help her clean and go shopping for her. However, my mother has told me that she comes and just sits and reads a magazine and leaves her with no food in the house. I have tried to complain to the agency but have gotten no results. What are my mother's rights?? She is getting the service thru Medicare and is not paying for it but she needs it because she is unable to shop for herself due to a recent fall.

How can I physically remove my mother from her home and move her into an Assisted Living Facility?

This is a very tough issue. I am afraid I will be facing the same thing soon.

My mom refuses to give me Power of Attorney, but she cannot mange her money and is constantly forgetting to pay bills. What can I do?

Thank you very much for answer. She is more open to the idea of electronic banking. Hopefully, I can set this up this weekend.

Should I move out of my mom's place?

I think you need to find a good Caregiver Program in your community. This would be a program to help YOU manage all that is happening with you mom. There are many of them that are actually free.

My mother is currently on Medicaid. Can I take out a Life insurance policy to cover the expenses for her funeral if I am the beneficiery?

As I understand it my mother's Medicaid cannot be affected because I am the beneficary.
