I had to deal with it for a while because my mom now lives with me, not having no help from family I had to stop feeling guilty about her money because I had to take FMLA and no longer had any paid leave! I took it upon myself to go on her bank account and I now control her money which helps pay my bills also until I can place her in adult day care 5 days a week and return to work full time. I do give her $50 to $75 so she feels like she has her own money, but most of the time she doesnt even spend it if we go to the store, dont know why she holds on to it, but it comes in handy if we run out of money by the end of the month. Our parents still try to have that control but we as caregivers must do what is best for them and ourselves, hand in there, its a rough road and sounds like you havent even gotten half way down it.
