I am often disgusted by my kid's selfishness, but I try to remember when I was that age and realize perspective is partially the cause. They haven't suffered yet. My consolation, believe it or not, is that my Mother, who never gave me the time of day as a child, only thinks of me now! I am invaluable to her, as I hold all the cards. It is a bittersweet irony. When I tell her my sister is coming for a visit, she looks blank and says, "who's that?" It cracks me up! Don't despair--you will have your reward in many ways. Thanks for writing back--just wanted to add the "perspective" perspective. heehee, christina
