I am having the same issues as u if not worse!!!! mom is very impulsive, has a very rare illness called PSP which only affects qone hundred thousand in the world!!!!! it iskillling me watch all this, I have to chalk it up to she is a very seick woman and has a very progressive desease, oh ,and she does the same things to me!!! she call the distant family and turns me into a camillion, meanwhile she lies all the time,. she has given me Power of Atorney 2 times already then impulsively changes her mind and then makes me POA again... you are certainly not along, but remember, u need to keep ur sanity, do NOT let her manipulate u, I tell my mother that I will not condone pity parties, and self pity that she is a grown woman, and that I will not tolerate lies, that if she want to have me in her life, she has to treat me the way she would like to be treated!!!!! ok, I do understand that u dont want to go see her, then thats ok too..... go only once in a while, believe me she has plenty of time to think about her actions, and if she doesnt have alzheimers or dementia, then there is NO excuse for her actions, sound to me that she is manipulating all of U!!!!!! ignore her dont let her waste ur energy, be firm, be honest, and let her know that u will NOT tolerate the bullshit!!!!! speak only for yourself, not your siblings, that worked for me......................she knows that I am never mad at her now and that I am just mad at the facility who are making serious medical mistakes with her, they are going to end up killing her!!! and mom thinks she is cheating the system, but now understands that she is putting her own health at risk, she is dying and soon will need a feeding tube as things are getting trapped in her lungs (food and liquid)
