I am a Certified Senior Advisor, and an owner of 2 Home Instead Senior Care Franchises, that care for Seniors in their own Homes, so they are able to remain safely in their own residence. My company provided CAREGivers that assist with non-medical duties, such as companionship, meal preparation, Lt housekeeping, transportation and personal care.

I am caring for someone, living at home and the primary ailment is depression.

My mother will not go to dinner at her independent living facility because she isn't confident talking to others. How can I get her to go?

Talk to the staff, they may have a buddy system as this is common. She may be able to start the welcoming committee, and help another new resident get aquainted in the future. No better cure then help ...Read More
