She's no longer controlling and critical and bringing up mistakes over 20+ yrs ago for her children. My siblings support me in whatever I need to do w/Mom. TG for the adult daycare in my area that she can attend when I work or need a mini-break during the days. (I'd strongly recommend checking in your areas for an adult daycare. It's *truely* a lifesaver.)
Remember too, to take some time for yourself. As a caregiver, it's important to keep ourselves healthy and emotionally balanced. Meditation and reading take me out of this version of reality and help me to mentally focus on the *LIFE* I want to live. I realize that Mom'll pass from this disease eventually, so I try to take her out to the zoo, park to feed the ducks, library, etc, as much as I can. It's the little things that bring joy to her life.
I haven't heard from my male friend in a couple of weeks. I've decided to let him call me, since I always answer my phone. I'm trying to channel the energies that I use enjoying his company to get some quilts assembled. I love to cut them out, but haven't had the energy to sew them together. I'm trying to *make* the enrgy/time to get them together since they're due in March/April. Last night I was cutting out a variety of purples squares for my neice's baby quilt (the one due in early april) and my nephew and his new wife's laprobe. Hers is in purples and creams too.
