...Read MoreBarbiedoll ~ Thank you so much for sharing. I KNOW just how the nursing home situation can result in so much pain and suffering. My sister never looked into Assisted Living as she assumed our mom at 86 with diabetes (partially) and some dementia, would have to be in a nursing home. I didn't know either, and have full-time care of my husband at the time (and still have) so didn't realize that a move might have worked for her. She passed away after 3 years in the nursing home of systemic infections and complications "due to old age". To this day, I feel so sad that had I thought of something like Assisted Living or could have had her at home, the scenario would have been so much different and better for her.
