My Mom had a heart attack not even a week after my Father's death. Bless her heart I think she internalized her grieve. She is now on medications and adjusting to that. I talk with her freqently and see her almost daily.

thanks, I am new to this and need all the help I can get, my family is unhappy about the decision of my mother to give up her house and live with me, even tho she can't drive or get around well at all, she is happy but my brothers want her taken care of and they want to tell her how to spend her $ to make sure they get it all. She is 83 and also has an elderly pet I have to care for as well.

Jaye, my heart broke at the news of your Dad's transition to the other side of eternity. How well I know the ache in one's heart that you mentioned. I've felt it before, including when my Dad died decades ago. When he died, I learned that love never dies. Hold fast to the very best memories of your Dad and his spirit will always remain with you.

The other thing I learned when Dad died is that when one parent dies, you suddenly realize the other will not be alive forever. May God bless you as you care for your mother. I will be praying with you that the ache you feel will give way to healing memories with each passing moment. Wish I could give you a hug, friend. Instead, please give your Mom a lingering hug for yourself - and, for her.

Jaye, I am sending my condolences for the passing of your father. I can sympathsize with you and I understand your heart aching. It is so difficult to say good-bye to someone you love, especially your parent. I lost my father to Alz 14 yrs ago and my heart still aches when I think of him. Hold to your precious memories of him, have a good cry whenever you feel like it and be thankful you were chosen to be his child. Blessings to you during this rough time.

Jaye I do have a nurse come in once a week, and therapy two days a week, they offerrred aides to come in 3 times a week for showers/baths, I turned them down at first but am going to ask the nurse to get it started as soon as possible. I've hired a lady to start tonight and stay overnight Mon-Fri. maybe I'll get a little relie from that. I've been staying, and coming back to my house every morning for about 2 hours to get things done here, then going back to my mom's about 2 pm to fix her a light meal, then coming back to my house and getting supper/washing/my bath, ect done then going back to her house to spend the night about 7pm........whewwwwww I'm exhausted.
