Have you ever heard of House Mates? It goes by a few names , but it matches people up with families or other homeowners who need roommates to help pay the expenses. We have it here in the greater NY area and it seems to work. I bet if you ask your local Department of Aging, they might have some information. Search on line and they might have info, but be careful and make sure it is legit!!!
