My father is moving into our home ( attached apartement) so we can care for him.

He has had some bad bouts this past year...he has stage 3 kidney disease, skin cancer, heart disease with a pace maker, Liver Cancer Survivor X2.
This last episode was really scary and landed him in rehab nursing home for a week.
He wants to give his home to us for us caring for him and him living in our apartment.
My question is, if we need to use medicaid would they come back on this transaction and take the house.
What records do we need to keep to protect us and ensure that we can keep the home. We don't wish to sell it.
I had come across the MAPP Videos and wondered if anyone has used them and get some feedback from that as well.
