able to stand up on his own and last night he coudn't sit up. Is this normal or Parkinson's Disease or should I get him to a doctor?

Sudden changes, big changes should always be evaluated ASAP.

Yes, call a Dr. This happens to my mom and Dr. said they are episodes or flareups, but always check. Parkinson's can be different things for different people. Not everyone has the same systems. Good luck.Linda
