About me

I am an only child. My daddy died of brain cancer a year ago. I lived with my parents and cared for both of them for 5 months while he was sick. When he died, I moved my mother in with me and my husband. She has had AD for about 13 years and is in the moderate to severe stage. I work 4 to 5 days a week and have a sitter who cares for her on those days. My husband lost his job about the same time my dad died. We started a new business and he spends most of his time with that. My son helps out when he can, but most of the caregiving is left up to me and my sitter. It was harder at first, just getting used to being confined, but I have gotten more used to it. Sometimes I get depressed, but mostly I feel grateful, because things could be so much worse. God has been very good to us.

Thanks for the encouraging words, I've had to talk to God or ask others to agree with me in prayer the whole year of 2009. As you can see in my profile I have a Home Care for the Elderly business. What it doesn't say is I have NO clients at them moment. In April my 92 year old client got ill sending her to a nursing home, while she was there her grand daughter took charge and moved her 91 year old husband in with them. And when she was released she also went to live with them. So no work :+(
I did keep in contact through friends and letters. Then in Sept he died and 6 weeks later in Oct she died. I think she died of a broken heart. On Nov 28 my 84 year old mom died. We had been giving her 24/7 care in 2009. It's been a rough year but it has given me some articles for the south bend examiner. You can check out my articles there.
I wish I'd had this site last year when I needed it. I found it after mom died.
So unless my articles start making me BIG money I need clients to care for soon.
