Have you tried just letting him go to bed naked with perhaps just a Depends on, so you don't have to do so much laundry? If he's not a wanderer(as in outside)I would just let him be naked.
I had him in respite care for a week and they put him in bed in a tshirt and depends. No pants, no socks. When he was in a rehab facility, they just wrapped a towel around his private parts and covered him in a sheet. Not even a depends. Since then, he is very sensitive about wearing a tshirt, a long sleeve shirt, pajama bottoms and socks. If I put him in a facility, I’m not sure what they will expect him to wear.
Make sure your home is wander-proof - in other words, that he can't leave in the middle of the night wearing no clothes. My next door neighbor did this and someone found her walking naked down the street in the middle of the night in cold weather. After that, she was no longer my neighbor. Off to Memory Care, as she should have been before that happened.
Be sure the clothing isn't polyester or silky as the close weave makes them always feel wet. Use good cotton or flannel. If not, understand he would rather be naked at that point and allow him to be. IMHO.
I usually do just change his clothes. He stuffs the ones he took off into the hamper or sometimes into the trash can. I wash three or more loads of clothes a day just to keep up with him. I try to catch the clothes he takes off and return them to the drawer but he usually argues with me if he sees me do this. He swears the clothes are filthy and wet. I’m trying to place him n a facility. So far the only one to reply that they have a bed for him want $10,500 a month base price then add on all sorts of charges. I cannot afford that. I’m waiting to hear from a Veterans home. I hope they have room. Thanks for answering.

Very sorry for your problems.
